About the Helix Software Foundation

NOTE: This is a placeholder page. The content here is not final and will be updated soon. Helix as of Apr, 15 2024, is not yet a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Helix Software Foundation is in the process of being established and will be registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the near future. This page is intended to provide information about the foundation and its mission, but it is not an official representation of the organization at this time.

The Helix Software Foundation (HSF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advancing the Helix programming language. Our mission is to support the development of Helix, foster a vibrant and inclusive community of Helix programmers, and provide resources and education to help developers of all levels succeed with Helix.

Helix is an open-source programming language built for developers who care deeply about control, performance, and clarity. Originally created to explore what low-level programming could look like with modern ergonomics, Helix aims to make systems-level development more accessible—without abstracting away the power that makes it so compelling. Whether you’re targeting embedded systems or building native applications, Helix is designed to scale with you: predictable behavior, zero-cost abstractions by default, and readable code that doesn’t require a PhD in compiler theory.

The HSF is committed to ensuring that Helix remains a community-driven project, empowering developers worldwide to contribute, learn, and innovate together.
